Help a ranger save a rhino
IPM Awards Gold – Small Budget Campaign
Save the Rhino International
Save the Rhino needed an engaging fundraising campaign for their 2014 appeal to raise money for Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park (HiP). The poaching crisis in South Africa is worse than ever, and HiP is in urgent need of funding for ranger equipment to allow the patrol teams to carry out their anti-poaching and monitoring work to protect the Park’s rhinos.
This campaign highlights the honourable work of rangers in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, South Africa; and focuses on the individual items of kit that need replacing to help them protect rhinos. It asks people to donate towards these specific pieces of kit – making it easy for people to see how their donations will make a difference.
The zoo toolkit includes posters, fundraising ideas and exercises to encourage partnering zoos and their visitors to donate. We also developed a series of digital newsletters that allow the recipient to get to know a different ranger in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.
This is Save the Rhino’s most successful fundraising campaign to date.
